My theatre friends, Christian Scheider, Tucker Murder and Isla Hansen wrote, produced and directed the cool play The Summit which opened last Saturday at Guild Hall!
I had met Christian when I costume designed the play RED in 2014, then he recruited me to play ( he made my fantasy to be an actress come true!) the Japanese woman in his directed wacky play Galapagos (from the novel by Kurt Vonnegut) which we played at the Parrish Art Museum in the same year.
The show is spectacular with cool projection images ( I’m in one of them!), CG and the music! It reminded me of the Blue Men’s, but the story which takes in the future was unique. The fashionable Black & White futuristic costumes designed and made by Isla and Tucker were SO cool, and I loved every one of them!
But the most remarkable is the star, Chris Daftsios who plays the A.I. He was in my NYC debut play Angry Young Man last year and his Jim Carrey-like super funny physical comedic style is a Hollywood level! I think Chris is so talented, and a sweet man in person. I had a blast with him last year, in a duet in karaoke You’re the one I want from Grease!
My soon to be a 16-year-old daughter and I laughed so much and loved the show! The Summit will be shown only several shows left, so you’d better get your tickets today!
Hi Yuka,
